Half Term, National Trust & Jamie Oliver #LittleLoves

Hello Hello how are you all?
It’s been Half Term here this week, though I believe a lot of you will be about to head into yours now and I am rather sad that ours is coming to a close.  Its been busy yet restful, productive yet relaxing – so all round pretty great! I didnt put too much pressure on myself to get loads done but I’ve made the most of my time.img_0887

It’s been wonderful having this one at home this week.  Since he started school i have felt like we’ve missed out on quite a bit of one on one time, so we have made the most of P’s naptimes with stories, puzzles, films and cuddles. He is really loving school, which is fabulous.  In fact he asked me on Monday if he could go to school even though it was Half Term.
I doubt he’ll always be this eager though, unfortunately.

Read

Honestly nothing to say here! (Book of Lykke – yes I’m still going)

Heard

I have his others, but for some reason haven’t listened to Ed Sheeran’s new album.  I’ve obviously heard any released songs on the radio, but its been nice to potter around the house listening to him-i really do think he’s got a beautiful voice.

Watched

Last Saturday Night I was treated to a free ticket and went to our local Theatre to watch some students in a production of ‘The Little Mermaid Jnr’.  It was a lovely last minute evening. I love the theatre and when you get the opportunity to watch children you teach, on the stage, absolutely loving it, it makes it even more special.  Then on Tuesday I went to the Cinema with a Friend to see the Royal Ballet perform Alice in Wonderland live from the Albert Hall.  Wow is all I can say.  I have not done this before but it’s certainly something i would do again. I love Alice in Wonderland and it was danced so beautifully.

Made

We have been living off of recipes from Jamie’s 5 Ingredients book ……Chicken Pot Pie, Crazy Good Pork Burger, Banging Beef Stew and Epic Rib Eye Steak,

Everything has been so successful and I can honestly say I would do every single one of these recipes again. So easy and so tasty.

I also made a little chocolate twist from the left over pie pastry and B made a wonderful Sweet Potato and Pecan Pie (a Momma Cherries recipe) which I wasnt sure I’d like, but was in fact beautiful.

Wore

Another of P’s Birthday outfits was this top – ‘Cool runs in the Family’.
My Auntie brought it for him and I believe she is absolutely right.  I couldn’t resist adding this video in here though.  It seems P loves music and dancing just as much as the rest of us!

And lastly

This Half Term has been spent here there and everywhere, with a couple of home days thrown in to recoup, as the next few months are going to be crazy.  We went to our local National Trust Property with friends on Tuesday and had a blast on the Autumn/Halloween trails, we watched some of my students in a dance festival and the boys spent a day with their Nanny while I sorted out show costumes from our storage and taught classes.  They’ve played in the park with their cousins, practised letters and reading and Daddy even had a day off where we played at home and spent time sorting things around the house, putting bits in the loft and creating more space in everyone’s bedrooms.
Its so nice to have space!
Our room especially ahs been so cramped and it feels so wonderful now! Lots of decluttering still to do, but I’ve made a great start.
