As LB had been so poorly and P was only 4 weeks old we didn’t want to drag them out in the cold to stand at a big fireworks display, so instead decided to do it ourselves in our back garden, so we could whizz back inside and warm up quickly when needed!
We layered ourselves up in our warmest coats, hats, scarves and gloves with an added blanket for P and made our way into our little sparkly bubble for the evening.
We made sausage sandwiches, chips and beans and ate them in the garden and LB loved it. The best bit was obviously going back indoors for hot chocolate with marshmallows though!
LB stared up the sky making all the appropriate ooooos and arrrrrs while P slept though the whole thing (somehow).
Fireworks have always been a favourite night of mine.
Over the last 10 years I’ve only ever been to one display though, due to working most of the time so it was really lovely to enjoy it in the comfort of our own home while watching the local village display over the rooftops!
Can’t believe this post has been sat in my drafts for a month
and I’ve finally got around to publishing it!
