Looking back to my Spring loves, Summer loves and Autumn loves its great to see the joy in every season.
This Autumn i think we’ve been really lucky with the weather,
its been mild right up until mid November when we’ve got colder nights due to it gets darker earlier and unfortunately a bit more rain.
Christmas
Must be the biggest love of Winter!
This is what keeps me going with the idea of family, friends and festivities and that little bit of time to take off guilt free.
The decorations, the joy, the music, the fun plans.
Sitting by the fire
Ok so we don’t technically have one.
We have the fireplace but no real fire-maybe next year.
However my parents in law have one and we did as kids and its just so lovely to cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket and a roaring fire which makes the place just feel so cosy.
I could watch a fire for ages i find it really calming.
Possibility of snow
I know snow is a love hate relationship for many.
I love snow for a few days.
I love its beauty and crispness and chance to maybe have a day off to go sledging ,make a snowman and have a snow fight.
However as soon as its goes all sludgy, slippery and prevents regular work and therefore money it looses its magic.
Man I’ve grown up!
Wrapping up in layers
The hats, gloves and scarves didn’t have to come out this Autumn and IO’m looking forward to digging them out and layering up. Nothing like going a for a walk all wrapped up and coming home with a bright read nose but everywhere else is toasty.
Comfort Food
As the nights draw in and the weather gets colder, the food becomes more and more comforting. The casseroles, stews, soups and broths. Filling and wholesome and wonderful.
An excuse to stay indoors
Sometimes we as a family just need some time at home. In the summer we try and make the most of the nice weather by making outdoor plans constantly. The winter brings with it the opportunity to stay indoors, shut the curtains, cuddle up, watch films, drink hot chocolate and hibernate!
I hope you all have a fabulous winter!
I love this post and agree with all of them. I love Christmas however I do find January And February quite depressing. My husband keeps going on about getting a fire in our house and I think I am coming round to the idea. They look so cosy. Haha I’m the same with snow, I don’t mind a bit of it at the weekends when we have no plans bit by Monday I want it all cleared please! X
