There has been a lot going on in the news and personally this week, to make me feel grateful.
Grateful for my little family (Me, B and Little B),
Grateful for my extended Family (My Parents, Siblings and their families)
and grateful for everything we are lucky enough to have :
a roof over our head, food on the table
and simply and most importantly the people we love.
Its so easy to complain.
To moan about what we don’t have, get stressed over the little things and to think the grass is greener.
We don’t realise that other people wish for what we have!
Quite frequently we take it all for granted.
The picture of Aylan Kurdi that has been all over the news this week has hit so many people, hard.
It’s sad that its taken this to bring the whole situation in Syria to the forefront.
The idea that putting your child into a boat, rather than staying at home, was a safer option for him and his family,
And that their dream of reaching a safe place never materialised.
The idea that as a mum I could have had to make that awful decision, that that could have been us!
Its unfathomable.
Home should be your safe place!
Home should be where you and your family make happy memories!
Home should be where you go to be content and feel secure.
I can’t even put into words the emotions I am feeling at the minute and I’m not even going to try!
Today I just want to remember how
extremely lucky I am to have the people i do, in my life,
I honestly don’t know what I would do without my family and people close to me and I’m dreading ever having to find out.
I want to hug everyone tight and tell them I love them and remind us all daily how lucky we are!
